I want to take a stand. Will you join me?

I have something that bothers me.
I mean, really, really, really bothers me. And I'd like to do something about it.

If you know me, you know that I'm not generally a zealous, passionate person who gets really excited or riled up about . . . well, anything. There are plenty of things that are wrong in the world, plenty of things to take a stand against, but there is one thing that really actually bothers me. Disturbs me. Makes me want to change it.

Sex trafficking. The use, abuse and sale of real-life, first-world/any-world slaves. Men, women and children are all victims. Age, weight, skin color, none of it matters.

According to this article, yesterday's Super Bowl was the "single largest magnet for sex trafficking and child prostitution".

I don't know what I can do about this. But for once, I want to do something. And maybe, somehow, this blog can be part of it.

Master of None

Well, it's definitely happening to me. You may have noticed that my writing has SERIOUSLY slacked off.
I only have myself to blame. I'm becoming interested in WAY too many different things at once!

Pinterest is the bane (inspiration?) of my life. I've started sewing/refashioning clothes, decorating my table, making flowers out of satin scraps, cooking completely impractical meals and working out. Which all seemed fine.

 And then I found Becky Earl's blog. It's a fabulous photography blog - of portraits, which I love.

 This photo is showing the difference between a "Say CHEEESE" smile and a natural one.

And I thought, "Ooooh - I would love to do that! I want to learn how to do portrait photography!"
And that's when I realized I'm crazy.

Seriously. I'm not into photography. I never remember to take a camera with me, and when I DO happen to have one, I never think to take pictures. We don't own a really nice camera, and I wouldn't know how to work one if we did. What is wrong with me?!

And I began to realize . . . I'm interested in WAY TOO MANY things! I can't possibly become good at ALL of them - can I?

But! This blog is here for me to have a place to put my different projects, and hopefully to become better at each different venue I explore.

So all that to say this; I'm going to expand this blog beyond creative writing, and start showing some of the other insanity I'm allowing into my life. XD Here's some sneak-peeks!
